Obituary

Stanley Fera II, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on February 15, 2013 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Anthony C. Fera, Ret. NFPD Chief and Elvira M. (Garcia) Fera.

Stan attended local school and graduated from Bishop Duffy High School. He served in the United States Navy until his Honorable Discharge in 1971. On September 29, 1984, he married Bonnie L. Lilley in Youngstown, NY. Stan was employed at the Niagara Falls Water Board and retired as a Senior Meter Technician. He served as a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #247. He also belonged to the Italian Sons and Daughters of America Volare Lodge and served as a Eucharistic Minister at Mt. Carmel Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Stanley enjoyed playing golf and pool as well as playing the piano. Above all, Stan will be remembered for his great sense of humor.

In addition to his wife of 28 years, Stanley is survived by his two children Stanley (Amanda L.) Fera III and Emily M. Fera both of Niagara Falls, NY; one grandson, Nicholas A. Fera; his two sisters, Celestina (Ed) Ventry of Wheatfield, NY and Mary (Jack) Price of Grove Port, OH. He was the son-in-law of Frederick (late MaryJune) Lilley Wilson; brother-in-law of Nancy Craig of Amherst, NY, Donna (Chris) Martin of Wilson, NY and Douglas (Alfred Calvet-Mir) Lilley of Buffalo, NY. Stan is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Anthony (Mary Beth of Lexington, KY) Fera, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 19th from 4 – 8 P.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Wednesday February 20th at 9:15 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th St. and Independence Ave. Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery Niagara Falls, NY with Military Honors. The Knights of Columbus Council #247 will conduct a prayer service on Tuesday at 6:00 PM at the funeral chapel. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
