Obituary

Stella (Stocki) Justyk, 103, of Lewiston, NY, and formerly of Sherwood Avenue in Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday February 15, 2013, surrounded by her loving family, at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY, after a brief illness. Born and educated in North Tonawanda, NY she was the daughter of the late Peter and Ann (Nicpon) Stocki.

Stella married William S. Justyk on August 31, 1939 in Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Niagara Falls, NY. They were married for 44 years until his death in 1983. Stella was employed for 20 years at the Carborundum Corporation before leaving to raising her family. She was an exceptional baker who also enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and keeping up on current events. She was a great supporter of President Obama and was also a Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres Fan. Stella was a longtime parishioner of the former Our Lady of Rosary Church in Niagara Falls until its closing. When her children attended school, she was an active member of the Mother's Club at Our Lady of the Rosary School.

Mrs. Justyk is survived by two sons, John P. (Marty Kimmith) Justyk of Niagara Falls, NY and William J. (Joanne) Justyk of Lewiston, NY, with whom she lived with for the last 8-1/2 years of her life. She was the very proud grandma of John "JJ" (Kathleen) Justyk of Welland, ONT, William Justyk of Seattle, WA, and Frank Justyk of Lewiston, NY. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Adeline (late Steve) Mojeski, and Muriel (late Ted) Justyk, both of Niagara Falls, NY, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Stella was also predeceased by her infant grandson Michael Justyk, her sister Helen (late Clarence) Schad, brothers Peter (late Carrie) Stocki, Joseph (late Bernice) Stocki, and Edward Stocki. She was the daughter-in-law of the late Martin (late Agnes) Justyk, and sister-in-law of the late Edward (late Helen) Justyk, Genevieve (late Bill) Nelson, and Bernice (late Pete) Reynolds.

The Justyk family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Niagara Hospice House, and the VNA, especially her aide, Debbie Preston, for the loving care provided to Stella. We will forever be grateful to you.

Visitation will be Tuesday 4 – 8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHPAEL, 2730 MILITARY RD. NIAGARA FALLS, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday February 20th at 10:30 AM at St. Mary of the Cataract Church, 259 Fourth Street, Niagara Falls, NY. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Upper Mountain Volunteer Fire Company Ambulance Fund, 839 Moyer Rd. Lewiston, NY 14092 or Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr. Lockport, NY 14094.
