Obituary

Steve Kolarich, Jr. 64 of Grand Island, NY passed away on Friday May 17, 2013. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Steve and Victoria (Alfieri) Kolarich, Sr.

Steve was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area. He attended local schools and graduated from the former Bishop Duffy High School. He later attended Niagara University and the University of Maryland. On June 27, 1970, Steve married Sharon L. (Butera) Kolarich in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niagara Falls. During the Vietnam War, he served as a staff sergeant in the United States Air Force from 1968 until his honorable discharge in 1975. Steve began his career as a computer technician with Burroughs Corp. in Buffalo, NY. He went on to become vice president of Data Core Services in Cheektowaga, NY and later co-owner and operator of Computer Support of Western New York. Steve had a passion for classic and modern sports cars. He also enjoyed golfing and in his younger years, coaching the former Our Lady of the Rosary School basketball team in Niagara Falls. During his son's childhood, Steve was actively involved in the Boy Scouts serving as a troop leader. He was also an active member of St. Stephen's RC Church in Grand Island where he attended Mass daily, the VFW Post # 9249 in Grand Island and Buffalo Bonsai Society.

In addition to his wife of forty two years, Steve is survived by his son, Steven M. (Allison) Kolarich of Cheektowaga, NY, his grandson, Jack James Kolarich, a sister Kristina Frantz of Arizona, his mother-in-law, Dorothy Landis of Niagara Falls, NY, 'Uncle Jim' Kolarich of Niagara Falls, NY, aunt and uncle Geri and Bob Sdao of Lewiston, NY and several nephews.

There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday May 25th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen's RC Church 2100 Baseline Road Grand Island, NY with Rev. Lynn Shumway officiating, concluding with Military Honors. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to Disabled American Veterans Attention: GIFT PROCESSING PO Box 14301Cincinnati, OH 45250.
