Steven D. Garneau, 60 of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Thursday May 9, 2013 at Niagara Hospice in Lockport, NY following a two year battle with cancer. Born May 15, 1952 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Raymond T. Garneau and Gloria (Learn) Garneau Bachleda.

Steven was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls. He attended local schools and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School. He worked for Niacet Corp., Arms Steel Corp. in New Hampshire, NIACAP, the City of Niagara Falls Parks Department, and Walter S. Johnson Construction Company until becoming ill. Steven enjoyed being at home surrounded by his family and friends, and beloved dog Pumpkin. He was a passionate New York Yankee fan and avid fan of the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots.

Steven is survived by his loving fiancé of twenty years, Deborah Koziel, his three sons, Jonathan Smith, Michael Garneau both of Niagara Falls, NY, Steven D. Garneau and was predeceased by one son Christopher N. Garneau. He is also survived by two sisters, Crystal S. Garneau and Cindy (Fred) Dojka both of Niagara Falls, NY, nephew Ryan (fiancé Angela Heary) Dojka of Maryland, three step-children, Stephanie Koziel, Richard Koziel and Alan Koziel all of Niagara Falls, NY, six step-grandchildren who knew him as Papa Steve, his aunt Marjorie (Peter) Deep-Sky his uncle Charles E. (Mary Jane) Learn and several cousins. He was also predeceased by his grandparents, Kenneth and Lillian Bodie.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 5-7 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS, NY where services will immediately follow at 7 p.m. .
