Sylvia (Polizzi) Casal, 86, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on December 5, 2016 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Emanuele and Delia (Corieri) Polizzi.

Sylvia was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and attended local schools. She was a self-employed beautician and owner of Sylvia's Beauty Salon in Niagara Falls for many years. She was a longtime active parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church as well as a member of their Bereavement Committee. Sylvia was also a member of the I.S.D.A. Cataract Lodge. She enjoyed cooking, spending time during the summer at her cottage in Canada, but above all spending time with her grandchildren.

Sylvia was predeceased by her husband Serafin Casal on February 28, 1982. She is survived by three children, Salvatore J. (Lisa) Casal, Josephine A. (Anthony) Cosentino and Sharon (Bill Colpoys) Casal, several grandchildren and-great grandchildren, one sister Mary (late Charles) Nicastro and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by one brother Gerald (late Evelyn) Polizzi.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 – 7 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence.
