Obituary

Terry Booze, 72, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, at his residence in the Town of Niagara. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late James and Zola (Works) King.

Terry was a proud graduate of LaSalle Senior High School, excelling in both basketball and football. His athletic ability earned him a scholarship to Cortland State University, where he continued to shine as a running back. An unfortunate, career ending knee injury occurred just before his opportunity to attend training camp with the Cleveland Browns, a moment that had offered him a genuine shot at the NFL.

After graduating, Terry moved to Germany and began a long and meaningful career as a social worker, specializing in addiction treatment throughout the prison system. He spent over 35 years abroad before returning to the United States, settling first in California and continuing his work as a youth counselor. In 2015, Terry returned home to Niagara Falls to be closer to his family and later worked as a school bus driver for Niagara Falls Coach Lines until his retirement. Well traveled and adventurous, Terry explored much of the world and especially enjoyed skiing and paragliding.

Terry is survived by his sons, Terence Booze and Dana Booze; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings, Bishop Stephan (Celestine) Booze, David Roundtree, Michael Roundtree, Debra Roundtree, Duane Roundtree, Dorrain Roundtree, James Roundtree Jr., Tyrone Roundtree, Dale Roundtree, Mark Roundtree, Saleem Roundtree, Telnel Roundtree, Salome Roundtree, Miriam Roundtree, Simeon Roundtree and Aneesa Roundtree; as well as a many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Terry was predeceased by three siblings, Theresa Englesson, Sidney “Taboo” Booze and Troy Booze.

Homegoing services will be held on Friday, August 15 at 12 PM at Potter’s House Christian Community Church, 723 7th Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Arrangements by M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel. Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
