Obituary
Theresa M. (Filippelli) Marasco, 85, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY passed away in Greer, AZ while living with her son. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late James and Adelina (Perri) Filippelli.
Theresa attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. On October 20, 1951 she married John H. Marasco at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. Marasco predeceased her on November 10, 2004. Terri worked part time as a hairdresser until entering into the family owned business the former Marasco's Complete Foods, a delicatessen noted for their specialty meats, located at 19th Street and Ashland Avenue in Niagara Falls, NY.
Terri was a gifted vocalist and enjoyed singing. She began performing in her teen years on the radio and later with the Sweet Adeline's Choir, performing at various locations throughout Western New York and Canada. She was also a member of the St. Leo's Church choir and the Lioness Club. Theresa was a helpful lady who gave generously from her heart to the community. She was a loving mother to all, especially the neighborhood children that she loved to watch. Terri was also an excellent cook but most of all she liked spending time with her family and friends.
Theresa is survived by two sons John T. (Connie) Marasco of Boston, MA and Ronald P. (Tracy) Marasco of Greer, AZ and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother Fred (Theresa of Niagara Falls, NY) Filippelli of Niagara Falls, NY.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2 – 5 and 7 – 9 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Thursday May 24th at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Vincent DePaul at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Robert Stolinski officiating. Entombment at the convenience of the family will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. Memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Parish, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
