Thomas N. Clabeaux, 64, passed away on Friday September 20, 2013 at his Grand Island, NY residence. Born in Buffalo, NY he was the son of the late Donald N. and Rosemary (Zwick) Clabeaux.
Tom attended local schools and graduated from Canisius College in Buffalo with a Bachelor's Degree in History and Philosophy. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Thomas was an independent insurance broker and operated Clabeaux & Associates for over forty years on Grand Island, NY, and was a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Round Table Association. He was also a member of the Canisius College Alumni Association and a long time fan of local high school and college football. Tom was a member of St. Stephen Church in Grand Island where he served as a CCD educator for many years. He was also Grand Island Independence Party Chairman. As an avid tennis player, Tom was a prominent member of the Men's Tennis Senior Advanced Classic Challenge World Champions Tour.
Thomas is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Jean (Orsini) Clabeaux, who he married on April 9, 1988 in Orchard Park, NY; his sons, Timothy T. Clabeaux of Tampa, FL and Gregory T. (Bernadette) Clabeaux, DO of Williamsville, NY; his brothers and sisters, Donald Clabeaux of Niagara Falls, NY. Rosemary Daniels of West Seneca, NY, Alice (Jack) Roberts of Boston, NY, Roberta (Lance) Kledas of McKees Rocks, PA, John (Elise) Clabeaux of Ohio, David (Kay) Clabeaux of West Seneca, NY and Charlene (Jamaal) Hamood of Rochester Hills, MI; and fourteen nieces and nephews, and three great-nephews. He was the son-in-law of Sarafine (late John) Orsini of Niagara Falls, NY.
Visitation will be on Monday from 2 – 8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY RD. NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Tuesday September 24th at 10:00 AM at St. Stephen R.C. Church, 2100 Baseline Rd. Grand Island, NY. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment with military honors in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
