Devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather

Thomas W. Conde, Jr., 81 of Lewiston, NY, passed away at home on Monday, February 9, 2015. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Thomas and Rose (Trapasso) Conde, Sr.

Raised and educated in Niagara Falls, Thomas attended the former St. Joseph Elementary School and Trott Vocational High School. He served in the United States Army, and was honorably discharged in 1963. On November 20, 1965 he married Rose Marie (Masco) Conde at St. John de LaSalle Church in Niagara Falls, NY, and later moved to Lewiston, NY in 1979 where he currently resided. Tom worked as a skilled welder at Dobbie Foundry and Machine for twenty three years, and later Airco Carbon both located in Niagara Falls. He also worked in maintenance at Stella Niagara in Lewiston, NY as well as being part of the Green Thumb program for the New York State Parks Department. Thomas loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed tinkering around his house and metal working projects. But above all, his greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.

In addition to his wife of forty nine years, Thomas is survived by two sons, Thomas W. (Sarah Scouten) Conde, III of Youngstown, NY and Michael A. (fiancé Denise Johnson) Conde of Lewiston, NY; his grandchildren, Devin Conde, Connor Conde, Benjamin Conde, Isabella Conde, Abigail Conde, Ava Conde, Grace Johnson, Maggie Johnson, Jacob Scouten, Olivia Ponticelli, Tiana Ponticelli and Lucas Ponticelli; three brothers, Angelo (late Sarah) Conde of Niagara Falls, NY; Frank (Marie) Conde of Lewiston, NY, Rudolph (late Joan) Conde of Niagara Falls, NY; one sister Rose Marie (Edwin) McNiff of Poughkeepsie, NY and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was also predeceased by one sister, Teresa (Harry of Niagara Falls, NY) Hardenstine.

Visitation will be on Friday from 1 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. at the
M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Saturday February 14th at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's RC Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY with Msgr. David G. LiPuma officiating, concluding with Military Honors. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
