Obituary

Thomas J. Laurendi, 63, formerly of Lewiston NY, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at his home in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Vincent J. and Joan (Hilton) Laurendi.

Tommy was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School and received a degree in Political Science from Niagara University. While at Niagara Falls High School, Tommy was an avid Football player, and to no surprise, his senior class Homecoming King. On October 10, 1992, he married Deborah 'Debbie' A. (Magliarditi) Laurendi at St. Peter's Church in Lewiston, NY.  Tommy was employed as a Quality Control Manager at Adelphia Cable in Niagara Falls, NY.

Tommy's zest for life was as large as his appetite. He loved being around family and friends, hosting parties, picnics, barbecuing, manicuring his lawn, going to his children's sporting events, theatre and music performances as well as attending NHRA Drag Racing, which he had the opportunity to share with his children this past July in Pomona, CA.  Tommy also was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and a fan of all those who knew him. He loved life no matter where he was, but especially loved his new life in Florida. He loved to go boating or simply watch the boats or dolphins going by on the intercostal from his balcony. Tommy was an entertainer and the life of the party, whether through his dance moves, his numerous one liners, his crazy facial expressions, or simply through his gut roaring laugh.  More importantly, Tommy had a heart of gold, and had the courage and strength of a super hero.  His resilience through his lengthy illness should be a lesson to all.   He was a great husband, father, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, friend and grandfather to his beloved cat, Kitty, who never left his side.

Tommy is survived by his wife and his best friend, Debbie Laurendi; his children, Marina and Michael Laurendi whom he loved whole heartedly and was so proud of; his sister-in-laws Michele Sesto and Lori Laurendi; his niece Jennifer (Aaron Santiso); his nephews, Vinnie, Anthony, and Joey Laurendi, his great-niece and nephews, Olivia, Luke and Austin Santiso, and countless cousins and friends, who made his life complete. Thomas was predeacesed by his brother, Vince Laurendi, Jr.
