Thomas P. O'Leary, 76 of Lewiston, NY passed away on Thursday July 16, 2009 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Facility in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Michael T. and Anna M. O'Leary.

Thomas was raised and educated in Niagara Falls. He was a member of the first graduating class of the former Bishop Duffy High School in 1950, and later graduated from the Buffalo Chapter, American Institute of Banking. Thomas married Donna M. (D'Amico) O'Leary on November 26, 1959 in St. Joseph's Church in Niagara Falls, and together they have resided in Lewiston, NY for the past forty one years. Tom began an extensive banking career in 1956 with Marine Midland Bank in Niagara Falls where he served as Assistant Vice President until 1980. In 1981 he became the Vice President in charge of Commercial Loans for Niagara County Savings Bank, and retired from the Business Loan Center in 1992.

Mr. O'Leary was actively involved in several local organizations. He served as former Director of Local Development Corp. in Niagara Falls, Director of the Optimist Foundation for Boys Inc., and Director of Tract II Betterment Corp. Tom also served as a member of the Lewiston-Porter Advisory Board for Continuing Education, Lewiston Rotary Club and Niagara Falls Chamber of Commerce. Thomas was a long time active member of the former Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Niagara Falls serving as a Eucharistic Minister, Parish Trustee and member of the Parish Council until its closing. He was a sports enthusiast and Niagara University Basketball season ticket holder for many years. In his leisure time, Tom enjoyed gardening and reading, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife of nearly fifty years, he is survived by his three sons, Michael A. (Pamela) O'Leary of Long Island, NY, Dennis J. (Debra) O'Leary of Grand Island, NY and Mark J. (Carol) O'Leary of Boca Raton, FL, six grandchildren, Matthew, Allison, Meaghan, Kevin, Sean and Patrick, one brother Jeremiah (Mary Ellen) O'Leary of Lewiston, NY and several nieces, nephew s and cousins. He was also predeceased eight siblings.

Mr. O'Leary's family will be present to receive family and friends on Friday July 24th from 10-11 a.m. at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY, where a Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m.. Mr. O'Leary's body was proudly donated to the University of Buffalo, School of Medicine for anatomical study.
