Thomas D. Tedesco, 80, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on May 26, 2024 at Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Thomas J. and Josephine M. (Donato) Tedesco.
Tom was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. During high school, he was employed at DiCamillo Bakery. In the mid 1960's, he served honorably in the United States Army, based out of Redstone Arsenal, AL. On September 10, 1966, he married Kathleen C. 'Kathy' (Janik) Tedesco. Tom was employed with Kimberly Clark for 5 years, and also Union Carbide as a Laborer for 10 years. Afterwards, he was self-employed in remodeling and contracting. Most recently, Tom was employed with the New York State Parks as the Gorge Crew Leader in Niagara Falls, NY for 15 years until his retirement in 2002. Following his retirement, Kathy was faithfully by Tom's side as his primary caretaker.
Tom enjoyed going to the Fort Erie Racetrack, playing poker, shooting craps, and betting sports. A skilled dancer in his younger years, he was a regular on the television show, Buffalo Bandstand. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family, and was extremely supportive of his granddaughter Taylor's local theatre performances and his grandson Thomas' bands, Hywater and Tedesco Knows Best.
In addition to his wife of 57 years, Tom is survived by his son, Thomas J. (fiancée Kimm Markovich) Tedesco; his grandchildren, Taylor Tedesco and Thomas P. Tedesco, his grand-dog, Paris, his brother-in-law, Paul (Marietta) Janik, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers-in-law, John (late Natalie) Janik, and Ron (late Alyce) Janik.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff of Elderwood at Wheatfield for the loving care and compassion they provided to Tom.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 1 from 10 AM – 12 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will begin at 12 Noon. Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Padre Pio Foundation of America, https://padrepio.com/giving/donations/.
