Timothy Lafornia, 77, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Wednesday June 10, 2015 at the V.A. Medical Center in Buffalo, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of Josephine (Papa) Lafornia of Niagara Falls, NY and the late Thomas J. Lafornia, Sr.


Timothy attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1956. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Petty Officer, stationed stateside as well as in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba from November 26, 1956 until his honorable discharge on August 25, 1958. Following his military service he continued his education at the University of Colorado where he earned a Bachelor degree in Health, English and Math. Tim was employed by Metropolitan Life Insurance Company as an Insurance Agent for twenty years until retiring in the mid 1980's. Tim was a devout Catholic who participated in various religious groups within the Diocese of Buffalo. He taught at the Curicullo through the Diocese of Buffalo Marriage Encounter, was a member of the St. Amelia's Church prayer group in Tonawanda, NY as well as various other activities there and also taught C.C.D. at St. Edmunds Church also in Tonawanda, NY.


Timothy is survived by one daughter Donna Lafornia of Niagara Falls, NY and was predeceased by one daughter Debra L. Lafornia. He is also survived by one grandson Jeremey P. Lafornia, two sisters Mary Madeline (William) Conklin of Hamburg, NY and Connee (Nicholas) Safis of Antioch, CA and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by one brother Thomas J. Lafornia, Jr. of Niagara Falls, NY.


There will be no prior visitation. Private services and interment in Memorial Park Cemetery in Lewiston, NY will be held at the convenience of the family.
