Obituary

Tracey L. Palmeri, 44, of Lewiston, NY, passed away on April 25, 2022 at home surrounded by love in the arms of her adoring husband Phil and her lifelong friend Stacy. Born in Lockport, NY, she was the daughter of David Long and the late Brenda Jean (Zobrist) Long.

Tracey attended Neil Patterson ESF and Buffalo State College, where she graduated with Bachelor's of Arts in English and a Master's in Education.  On July 7, 2007, she married Philip S. Palmeri in Lewiston, NY.  Tracey was employed as an English Teacher at Wilson High School for 10 years, where she was the Senior Class Advisor and also coached Middle School Track.  She was passionate about writing and education, and truly loved her students. An avid runner, reader, and poetry writer, Tracey loved to hike in the Niagara Gorge with her husband and dogs, and enjoyed Buti Yoga with her tribe.  She was an amateur fashion designer with her dear friend, Keri Schlageter, and loved going on girls' trips with her close friends Stacy Bax and Elizabeth Millen. An avid record collector, she was a huge music fan, enjoyed live music and road trips with Phil to see their favorite bands. Most recently, Tracey and Phil opened Battle Flag Tavern in Lewiston, NY, where they met many friends and created new memories.  She loved cheering for the Buffalo Sabres, Buffalo Bills, and enjoyed watching March Madness College Basketball.

In addition to her father and her husband of 14 years, Tracey is survived by her brother, Brian Long; her father's longtime companion, Loretta Nuhfer; her father-in-law, Phil Palmeri, her brother-in-law, David (Shannon) Palmeri, her sister-in-law Lisa (Justin) Miller, many nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as her best friend, Stacy (Guy) Bax, and her beloved dogs, Hank and Elwood.  In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by her mother-in-law, Karen Palmeri, and her beloved dog, Polly and her cantankerous cat, Walter.
