Tullio Ventresca, 94, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at his residence. Born in Bugnara, L'Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy, on July 10, 1924, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Consiglia Ventresca.
Tullio was raised in Italy and served in the Italian Army during World War II until his honorable discharge. Following his discharge, he moved to Venezuela, South America for employment and later returned to Italy to help his parents build their new home. Tullio went back to Venezuela for a few years before immigrating to the United States in 1963. On October 12, 1967, he married his beloved wife, Ebelmonda "Bella" Ventresca, at St. Joseph Church.
Mr. Ventresca was employed as an Electrician with the New York State Parks Department for over 24 years prior to his retirement. He was an avid gardener and hunter, and especially enjoyed wine making. Above all, Tullio was devoted to his family and centered his life around them.
Tullio's family would like to thank Dr. Jain and his staff, as well as the Visiting Nurses Association, and all of the home care aides for the kindness and care provided to Tullio throughout the years.
In addition to his wife of 51 years, Mr. Ventresca is survived by his children Sandra (Leon) Borczynski of Wheatfield, NY and Joseph (Michelle) Ventresca of the Town of Niagara, NY; his grandchildren, Leon Borczynski, Christina (fiance Ben) Ventresca, Joseph (fiance Katie) Ventresca, Michaela Ventresca, and his step-grandson Scott Banks. He is also survived by his brother Giovanni (Anna) Ventresca of Italy and his sister-in-law, Angela (late Antonio) Paonessa; and many nieces, nephews and cousins in the United States, Canada and Italy. He was predeceased by his siblings, Antonio (Paola of Niagara Falls) Ventresca, Dora (late Felice) Ventresca and Angelina DeJoris.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 13 th from 3 – 8 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Thursday at 10:15 A.M., followed by Tullio's Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. in Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY.
