Vernon J. Mt. Pleasant, 42, of Lewiston, NY, passed away unexpectedly on July 14, 2023 in the Town of Niagara, NY.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of Tammy A. (Truesdale) (Matthew) Wolosin and the late Vernon M. Mt. Pleasant.

Vernon was a member of the Tuscarora Beaver Clan.  He graduated from Niagara-Wheatfield High School.  Vernon was employed as Security at The Shack on the Tuscarora Reservation for the past 2 years.  An adventurous spirit, Vernon loved riding motorcycles, off trail ATV riding, and driving cars.  He loved music, and had a great sense of fashion, always coordinating his outfits with his large sneaker and accessory collection.  Vernon was a larger-than-life personality; he will be remembered for his beautiful smile, his goofy joking nature and his kind heart.  He volunteered his time delivering food to those in need on the Tuscarora Reservation every Wednesday.  Above all, he cherished his family and loved spending time with them.

In addition to his mother and step-father, Vernon is survived by his beloved children, Shania Mt. Pleasant, Summer Mt. Pleasant (Harry Jacobs IV), and McKinley Mt. Pleasant; his maternal grandmother, Inez (late Thomas) Truesdale; the mother of Shania and Summer, Tanya Falbo; the mother of McKinley, Melanka Perrelli; his aunties, Terri (Mark) Palmer, Phyllis "Bink" Patterson, Deb (Brian) Zacher; his uncles, Howard (late Helen) Mt. Pleasant, Jer (Cindy) Mt. Pleasant, as well as by many cousins and friends.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his beloved son, Shoney Dubuc, his paternal grandparents Ruby (nee Wilson) Mt. Pleasant, and Howard "Hoo-Doo" Mt. Pleasant, his beloved aunties, late Tina Truesdale and late Loretta "Gretch" Stone, and beloved uncles, Larry Mt. Pleasant and John "Punk" Mt. Pleasant.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 21 from 11 – 1 PM at the Tuscarora Indian Mission Church, 5035 Walmore Road, Sanborn, NY 14132, where funeral services will begin at 1 PM.  Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Tuscarora Indian Nation House Community Center.  Arrangements by M.J.
