Veronica Ferguson, 86, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully at her home on February 15, 2026. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Grace (Carmen) Colacino.

Veronica was a proud graduate of Niagara Falls High School. She began her career as a secretary with Occidental Chemical Co. and later with Olin Corporation. She went on to serve the Niagara Falls Water Department, where she worked with dedication until her retirement in 1995.

A lifelong advocate for animals, Veronica held a special affection for cats and devoted much of her time to supporting their care and protection. Her compassion and gentle spirit touched many—both two‑legged and four‑legged.

She is survived by her brother, Anthony (Patricia) Colacino, Retired NFFD Chief Deputy; and her two nieces, Kelly (James) Dunning and Kara (Ernesto) Caprial, all of whom she cherished deeply. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Rosemary Coliceno.

Private interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Niagara Falls, NY, where she will rest beside her beloved parents.
