Victor 'Skip' Colton 84, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Wednesday August 12, 2009 after a long illness. Skip, as he was known, was born in Houtzdale, PA on December 26, 1924 the son of the late Samuel Helen (Zuba) Colton.
After graduating from high school, Skip volunteered for the Navy during World War II and received many honorary commendations. Skip was the husband of Edith (Trusello) Colton, his survivor, whose father was the owner of Trusello's Bakery. Skip was the manager of Trusello's Bakery until becoming disabled in 1993. Prior to his stroke, he enjoyed hunting, growing vegetables and fruits, especially his fabulous strawberries which were a favorite of the neighbors. Skip also took pride in his outdoor cooking at Lombardi's Farm, a weekly ritual accompanied by a few close friends including the Trusello boys, Buster, Joe, Joe G. and Johnny.
Skip is survived by his wife, his sister-in-law Jean Trusello and brother-in-law Sam (late Ida) Trusello both of Niagara Falls, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by several brothers and two brothers-in-law Bill Trusello and Richard (late Ena) Trusello.
There will be no prior visitation. Private funeral services will be held, followed by interment in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston NY with Military Honors.
