Vincent J.
DiLaura
d. Aug 19, 2026
Vincent “Vinny” DiLaura was born on September 21, 1954 and lost his courageous battle with cancer and entered into his eternal rest on August 19, 2026, where his buddy Demo was certainly waiting to great him with his tail wagging.
Vinny DiLaura was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, mentor, and friend whose gentle spirit and generous heart touched the lives of so many. He was truly a gentle giant, with a heart even bigger than he was. Vinny was the kind of person who never hesitated to help someone in need. Whenever anyone needed help with anything, Vinny always seemed to “have a guy.” Whether it was fixing something, finding someone who could help, or simply being there when someone needed a hand or a big bear hug, he always found a way. Helping others came naturally to him. Vinny also loved hunting and good Italian food!
Vinny took great pride in his work and the people he worked alongside. His work family meant the world to him, and he was an incredible mentor to those new to the trade. He was always willing to teach, share his knowledge, and help the next guy learn the ropes. He never made anyone feel like they had to figure things out alone. His patience, kindness, and willingness to help will be remembered by so many. But perhaps Vinny’s greatest legacy will be the love he gave to his family and friends. He had a remarkable ability to make people feel like they belonged. Friends became family, and family was always held close to his heart.
Vinny was predeceased by his loving parents, Rosie and Salvatore “Sam” DiLaura, his first wife, Christine DiLaura and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his beloved wife of 15 years, Tammy DiLaura; his beloved Labrador Retrievers, Dozer, Tanner and Tucker, his sisters, Joette (Guy) Schrack and Sandra Lamb; his son, Sammy DiLaura; his nieces and his cherished second family, Joe & MaryLou Pallaci and their children Michael, Karen Smith, Joey and their families. Karen’s children, Meghan, Camille and Ethan, were especially endeared in his heart. he loved spending the holidays and most birthdays with them, which gave him grandad status. He also leaves behind aunts, cousins, and countless friends whom he never considered “just friends”—they were family.
Vinny will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. His kindness, laughter, generosity, and willingness to always lend a hand will live on in the countless lives he touched. He may no longer be here to say, “I’ve got a guy,” but the love, lessons, and memories he gave us will stay with us forever. Rest peacefully, Vinny. You were loved more than you ever knew and will be missed more than words can say.
A celebration of Vinny’s life will be announced at a later date. Special thanks to Roswell Park and Niagara Hospice House. The love and compassion they gave to his family in Vinny’s final days was remarkable and will always be remembered.
