Vincent Laurendi.Jr., 59, of Lewiston, NY passed away Sunday August 17, 2014 at
Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence after a long illness. Born in Niagara
Falls, NY he was the son of Joan (Hilton) Laurendi of Lewiston, NY and the late
Vincent J. Laurendi.
Vince was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School and received a business degree
from Niagara University. While at Niagara Falls High school, Vince was an avid
football player and later coached the junior varsity and varsity football teams.
Vince was a founding member of the Bob Laurie Scholarship and served on the
committee which awards college scholarships to worthy students from Niagara
Falls High School.
Vince also had numerous professional achievements during his 29 year tenure as
General Manager of Adelphia Cable. He was honored as a recipient of Business
First "40 under 40" award given to rising young professionals throughout Western
NY. Vince was well recognized for his community involvement. While at Adelphia
he teamed up with the Niagara Falls Firefighters and hosted an annual telethon
which raised money to provide toys for underprivileged families at Christmas.
Vince also was a member of Mount St. Mary's Hospital Board of Associates where
he participated each year in Christmas toy giveaway to young hospital patients.
Additionally he served on Artpark's Board of Directors in Lewiston, NY. Vince
was a past president of Niagara Falls Country Club and Chairman for 40th Porter
Cup Golf Tournament.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Lori (Trapasso) Laurendi;
three sons, Vincent Laurendi of Atlanta, GA, Anthony Laurendi and Joseph
Laurendi both of Lewiston, NY; a brother, Thomas (Debbie) Laurendi of Lewiston,
NY; his mother-in-law Connie Trapasso of Niagara Falls, NY; brother-in-law
Thomas (Lisa) Trapasso of Lewiston, NY; sister-in-law Linda (Dave) Kok of
Niagara Falls, NY; one niece, Marina Laurendi, and nephews Michael Laurendi,
David, Jacob, and Steven Kok, Tyler, Nicholas, Michael, and Christopher
Trapasso. Vincent also leaves behind many cousins and dear friends who
supported him during his illness.
Visitation will be Tuesday 1 – 4 & 6 – 9 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA
FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY RD. NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Relatives and friends are
invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Wednesday
August 20th at 10:00 AM at St. Peter Church, 620 Center St. Lewiston, NY with
Rev. Msgr. David LiPuma, officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH.
Interment in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. If desired, memorials may be
