Vincent "Vince" A. Spadorcia, 83, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Born in Boston, MA he was the son of the late John and Anna (Papa) Spadorcia.
Vince came to Niagara Falls as a child with his family, attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1949. During the 1950's he served in the U.S. Air National Guard. On October 9, 1954 he married Sue C. (Caperchione) at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Vince was employed by the Niagara Falls Board of Education as a groundsman and later he worked at Frontier Foundry and retired from TAM Ceramics both in Niagara Falls. He was a member of the Cristoforo Colombo Society and served on the Niagara Falls Zoning Board of Appeals for over twenty years. He was also a board member and former president of the Center City Neighborhood Development Corporation in Niagara Falls. In 2009 Vince was the recipient of the Pine Avenue Business Association Citizen Speziale Award. He enjoyed bowling and participated in the retired mens leagues at Rapids Bowling Center in Niagara Falls.
In addition to his wife of sixty years, Vincent is survived by one son John (Holly) Spadorcia of Greenville, SC and was predeceased by one daughter Anne Marie (Dennis of Niagara Falls, NY) Swartz. He is also survived by five grandchildren Anthony (Katie) Swartz, Denise Swartz, Michael (Judy Nguon) Swartz, Joseph Swartz and Anthony Spadorcia; three great grandchildren Tyler, Madison and Dylan Swartz; one sister Frances (late Samuel) Cassano of Niagara Falls, NY; one aunt and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by his brother-in-law Joseph Cappy.
There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Committal Service on Wednesday, February 18th at 10:30 a.m. at Gate of Heaven Cemetery All Saints Chapel, 500 Riverdale Avenue, Lewiston, NY with Rev. Stewart Lindsay, O.S.F.S. officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
