Violet M. (Caruso) Delgross, 95, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Monday March 3, 2014 at the N.Y.S. Veterans Home in Batavia, NY. Born in Homer City, PA she was the daughter of the late Paul and Rose (Bell) Caruso.
Violet was raised and educated in Homer City, and married Nick E. Delgross in 1942. Mr. Delgross predeceased her in 1983. Violet was a longtime member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niagara Falls as well as area Senior Citizen groups. In her younger years, Violet enjoyed bowling as well as painting, crocheting and knitting.
Mrs. Delgross is survived by her two daughters, Judith (Carl) DeLuca of Batavia, NY and Barbara Delgross (Bruce Zeftel) of Kenmore, NY; four grandchildren, David DeLuca(Joseph Bankston) Daniel DeLuca, Nicole Zeftel and Jon Zeftel and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by three brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be on Friday from 4 – 7 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday March 8th at 10 a.m. at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary & Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
