Violet (Bagdasarian) Mooradian, 90, of Lewiston, NY passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Hospice House in Buffalo, NY. Born in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada she was the daughter of the late Balig and Almast (Egidian) Bagdasarian.
Violet attended school in St. Catharines, Ontario and on October 26, 1946 she married Suren Mooradian at St. Thomas Church in St. Catharines, Ontario. Violet was employed at the former Nabisco Shredded Wheat Co. in Niagara Falls, NY. For over sixty years she was an active member of St. Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church and the Armenian Relief Society both in Niagara Falls and was a dedicated contributor to the Armenian community. She especially enjoyed cooking. But most of all, Violet had an endless love for her close knit family and was the highly respected matriarch of them.
In addition to her husband of 68 years, Violet is survived by one daughter Lisa (John Paul) Lauricella of Clarence Center, NY; four grandchildren Nicole Lauricella, Sydney Lauricella, Zachary Lauricella and Cameron Lauricella and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother Michael (late Margaret) Bagdasarian.
There will be no prior visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Entombment at the convenience of the family will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Memorial donations may be made to St. Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church, 322 Ninth Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14303.
