Violet M. (Nagy) Oggiono, 87, of Niagara Falls, NY entered into rest on Thursday, September 19, 2013 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence, Lewiston, NY. Born in Welland, Ontario, Canada, She was the daughter of the late Mike and Ethel (Mosolygo) Nagy.

Violet was educated in Welland, Ontario, later married John L. Oggiono then moved to Niagara Falls, NY. "Mrs. O" as she was affectionately called by many, worked as an aide for LaSalle Senior High School and retired in 2001 after 27 years of service. Mrs. Oggiono was a lifetime member of the St. Francis Guild of Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting but most of all, she took great pride in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Violet is survived by her three children Nancy (Donald) Southwood Burns of Youngstown, NY; John (Nanette) Oggiono of Massachusetts and Marianne (Mark) Clingersmith of Niagara Falls, NY, eight grand children Richard Southwood, Meghan Hopkins, Mathew Clingersmith, Melissa Neufeld, Ashley Clingersmith, Johnathan, Lauren and Alyssa Oggiono, five great grandchildren Luke, Ava and Ana Hopkins; Wil Pedroza and Colin Southwood and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Violet was predeceased by four brothers and seven sisters.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 -4 and 7- 9 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Monday, September 23 at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent DePaul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 North Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Robert Hughson officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
