Violet L. (Mokhiber) Ross, 91, of Lockport, NY passed away on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Solomon and Nina (Aboufadel) Mokhiber.

Violet attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. On September 15, 1946 she married Philip Ross at St. George Antiochian Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. Ross predeceased her on September 9, 1994. Violet was employed as an accounts clerk by the NIOGA Library System at Wrights Corners for twenty years until she retired in 1991. Prior to that, she worked at the former Ambassador Leather Goods and Griffon Manor in the LaSalle area of Niagara Falls. She enjoyed playing cards and baking. Violet was an excellent cook and enjoyed sharing her culinary skills with her family and many friends. Most importantly, Violet will be remembered for being devoted to her family, and the care and concern shown to others.

Violet is survived by a son, Robin (Jennifer) Ross of Sanborn, NY and a daughter, Denise (Steven) Fitzgibbon of Cambria, NY and was predeceased by one son Philip "Buddy" Ross. She is also survived by five grandchildren Ross (Tanika) Fitzgibbon, Jessica (Ed) Redmond, Jeffrey Ross, Sean (Chantel) Fitzgibbon and Patrick Fitzgibbon; six great grandchildren Xavior, Gabriel and Oliver Fitzgibbon; Caleb, Nicollette and Kaya McCreary; one brother Alfred (late Jean) Mokhiber of Naperville, IL; two sisters-in-law Elizabeth (late James) Ross of Niagara Falls, NY and Mary (late Armand) Ross of Pendleton, NY as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. A special thanks to her special nephew Mikey, and neighbors David and Debbie Littere.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 – 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Monday January 19th at 9:15AM, followed by a funeral service at 10 AM. in St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 1073 Saunders Settlement Road, Lewiston, NY with Very Rev. Paul R. Solberg officiating. The Trisagion service will be held Sunday at 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 1073 Saunders Settlement Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14305.
