Virgil F. Neadow Sr., 86, of the Town of Wheatfield, NY died on Tuesday August 11, 2009 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in the Town of Porter, NY he was the son of the late Russel E. and Izora O. (White) Neadow. On June 10, 1971 he married Mary R. (Lanasa) Neadow in Niagara Falls, NY.

Virgil attended local schools and in early in his life, ran a metal salvage company with his family in Ransomville, NY. He moved to Miami, Florida in the mid 1950's and worked for a furniture moving company until returning to the Niagara Falls area in the early 1970's. Virgil later worked at Moore Business Forms and Carborundum Company in Niagara Falls, and retired as a taxicab operator and driver for LaSalle and United Cab companies also in Niagara Falls. Virgil was a member of the Eagles Club, and in his leisure time, enjoyed going to OTB, watching television and going for rides in the country. He also liked cooking but most of all, Virgil enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife of thirty eight years, Virgil is survived by nine children, Douglas (Patti) Neadow, Alan (Jodie) Neadow both of Ransomville, NY; Mona (Joe) Folmar of Newfane, NY; Paul Neadow of Niagara Falls, NY; Virgil Neadow Jr. of Basom, NY; Norman (Stacey) Neadow of Ransomville, NY; Timothy (Liz) Neadow of Barker, NY; Thomas (Kathy) Neadow of Martha's Vineyard, MA and Renee (Jonathan) Morse of Ransomville, NY; five step-children, Rosemary (Ancil) Malicoat of Kentucky, Butch Nocera, Charles Nocera, Phyllis (David) Heksch and Joseph (Emelita) Nocera all of Niagara Falls, NY; thirty grandchildren, eleven step-grandchildren, twenty six great-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, step great great-grandchild, one sister Joann (Donald) Smith of Ransomville, NY; two brothers Lamont (Karen) Kneeppel of Ransomville, NY and Harry (Betty) Kneeppel of the Town of Niagara, NY; one sister-in-law Josephine Tanzella of Niagara Falls, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Sunday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Monday August 17th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Stewart Lindsay, O.S.F.S. officiating. Interment will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
