Virginia Rey, 62, of Lewiston, NY passed away Saturday February 14, 2009 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Virginia was born in Niagara Falls and attended local schools. She was the daughter of the late Damian and Mary (Martinez) Rey.
Virginia began working in 1972 as an accountant in the finance department for the Army Corps of Engineers in Washington, D.C. She later was transferred to Alabama and then to Memphis, TN where she retired in 2003.
She was an avid doll collector and enjoyed making crafts. Virginia also took great pleasure in traveling; having visited many destinations in Europe, Caribbean, and the United States. Most importantly, Virginia enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her two sisters Amor (late James) Markel, Gloria (Frank) Chiasera both of Niagara Falls, NY; one brother David (Gorgia) Rey of Arizona, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
There will be no prior visitation. Relatives and friends are invited attend a Memorial Mass on Saturday February 21st at 9:30 AM in St. Peter's Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY. Everyone please assemble at church. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 315 Alberta Drive, Amherst, NY 14426. Arrangements by the M.J.
