Walter Bissett, 77, of the Town of Wheatfield, NY, passed away on January 19, 2021. Born in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late Walter J. and Anna (Fath) Bissett.
Walter was raised in Jersey City, NJ, where he obtained his Bachelor's degree from St. Peter's University. On August 14, 1965, he married his beloved wife, Rosalia (Spinella) Bissett, in Jersey City and later moved to Niagara Falls in 1976. Walter was employed by the Carborundum Corporation for many years as the Director of National Accounts.
Walter was a devout Catholic and longtime parishioner St. Vincent De Paul Parish and was very active with the parish activities. He enjoyed watching baseball, as well as playing baseball in his younger years. Above all, he especially enjoyed spending time with his family, who will miss him dearly.
In addition to his wife of 55 years, Walter is survived by his children Walter (Kimberly) Bissett, Jr., Renee Marie (George) Henderson and Stephen (Brandy) Bissett; his grandchildren PJ, Amanda, Emily, Trenton, Carmen, Siena, Mila, Kyle & Justin; his great granddaughter, Olivia and his siblings, Anne Miyer, Maryanne Bissett, Carol DiPoto, as well as many nieces and nephews. Walter was predeceased by one sister, Dorothy DeLeo.
Visitation will be on Monday, January 25 from 4 – 8 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Walter's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. in St. Vincent De Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kenmore, NY. Memorial offerings may be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society.
