Obituary
Walter "Lefty" Kajdasz, Sr., 86, of Youngstown, NY passed away Tuesday December 27, 2011 at Our Lady of Peace Health Care Facility. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Stanley and Mary (Kurdziel) Kajdasz.
Walter married Fleurette "Flo" (Racine) Kajdasz on October 25, 1952 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Lefty was employed with the Kimberly Clark Corporation which later became Cellu, NiTec, and Lyphomed in Niagara Falls, NY. He worked in various capacities there including as a fork lift operator and retired in 1991 after 25 years of service.
Walter was a longtime member and usher at St. Bernard's Church in Youngstown, NY. Lefty was also an avid New York Yankees fan and loved spending time with his friends and family.
In addition to his wife Fleurette of 59 years, Walter is survived by two sons, Walter R. (Karen) Kajdasz Jr. and Kerry J. (Diane) Kajdasz both of Youngstown, NY, two grandchildren, Ashley and Maria Kajdasz, two brothers Teddy Kajdasz and Frank (Sandra) Kajdasz both of Niagara Falls, NY and predeceased by five sisters, the late Victoria (late Edward) Sliwa, Jane (late Joe) Kozlowski, Veronica Kajdasz, Rose Carlisle and Mary Ann Kajdasz and predeceased by four brothers, the late John Kajdasz, Joseph Kajdasz, Steve (late Stella) Kajdasz and Stanley (Stella of Lewiston, NY) Kajdasz. Survivors also include several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday December 29th, 2011 at 10:00 AM in St. Bernard's Church, 218 Hinman Street Youngstown, NY 14174 with Msgr. J. Thomas Moran officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 101 John J. Audubon Parkway Amherst, NY 14228 or Youngstown Volunteer Fire Company Ambulance Fund 625 Third St. Youngstown, NY 14174. ARRANGEMENTS BY M.J.
