Wilbur L. Hunt, age 72, departed this life on January 18, 2020, as a result of a fire in his Niagara Falls residence. Born in Gantt, Alabama, he was the son of the late Oscar N. and Gladys (Curry) Hunt; and loving husband of Emma Jean (Dickerson) Hunt who he married on June 11, 1966.

Wilbur served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge. He worked for many years at Delphi as a pipefitter prior to retiring in 2011.

Wilbur was a longtime member of the American Legion Post #381, the Elks Lodge #295 and the Delphi Retirement Club. He was also an avid Buffalo Bills fan; but above all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife of 53 years, Wilbur is survived by his children, Shalonda Lynn (Leonard) Carter, Andrea Lanette Hunt and was predeceased by one son, Warren Lavar Hunt; he is also survived by his grandchildren, Brandi Hunt, Naparia Bailey, La'Kia Carter, Zaeshaun Lee Sistrunk, Ameerah Brown, Arquan Hunt and Adrianna; and was predeceased by grandsons, Arquez Hunt and Brandon "Mookie" Hunt. He is also survived by his great-grandson, DaMareo Jones; siblings, Patricia Ann Hunt and Willie "Pop" Nicholas; his aunt Nora Agee, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. He was also predeceased by four siblings, Nathan Hunt, James A. Hunt, Willie Belle Curry and Elizabeth Hunt; and one niece, Alicia Hunt.

Visitation will be on Monday, January 27 from 10 – 12 Noon at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 12 Noon.
