Willa Ellen (Showers) Hansen, 87, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025, at her residence under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born on December 21, 1937 in Philipsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lambert Showers and Laura (Beach) Showers Tedesco.

Willa came to the Niagara Falls area as a child with her family, graduating from Niagara Falls High School in 1956.  On January 5, 1957, she married Andrew H. 'Andy' Hansen at Our Lady of Lebanon Church.  Mr. Hansen predeceased her on December 13, 2006.  Willa was employed for 24 years at the Niagara Gazette in the Classified Department until her retirement on July 1, 1993.  She later worked as a Computer Operator at Intake at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, and then at Seneca Niagara Casino as a Communications Operator from 2002 until her retirement in 2013 at age 75.

Willa enjoyed time with her family, sewing, listening to music from the 50s and 60s, traveling with friends and shopping.  She was a member of the Golden Oldies Organization and was Treasurer of Spallino Towers Tenants Association.

Willa is survived by her grandson, Ronald (Jennifer Vitello) Hansen; granddaughters, Jennifer (Jonathan) Silvestri and Ashley Hansen; her great-grandchildren, Arianna Hansen, Giuliana 'Gia' Silvestri, and Nicholas 'Nico' Silvestri.  In addition to her husband of 49 years, she was sadly predeceased by her son, Glenn (Deborah of Grand Island, NY) Hansen, her daughter, Kelly Mariano, and her brother, Lambert 'Wimp' Showers.

Willa's family will be present to receive friends on Friday, May 16 from 9 – 10 AM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will begin at 10 AM.
