William T. "Bill" Powell,  74, of Grand Island, NY, passed away peacefully at Schoellkopf Health Center on October 8, 2025.

Born and raised in Rochester, NY, Bill was the son of the late Robert and Marion (Zapf) Powell. He graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School and went on to earn his Bachelor's degree from SUNY Geneseo. Bill dedicated his professional life to Trocaire College in Buffalo, NY, where he served for many years as Director of the Learning Resource Center.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Judith Nolan Powell; two siblings, Mary Ann (late Tim) Acker and Michael (Brenda) Powell; his extended family of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jeanette (late Dr. Neil) Druks, Margaret (Joseph) DeLoreto, Richard (Alma Stapleton) Nolan, Daniel (Michelle) (late Donna) Nolan, and James (Cynthia) Nolan, and his dear friend Jimmy Hilburger. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Powell.

In accordance with Bill's wishes, there will be no prior visitation. A Mass in his memory will be held at the convenience of the family. The Powell family extends heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated medical staff of the first floor rehab center at Schoellkopf Health Center for their compassionate care and support.
