William M. 'Bill' Stanley, 94, of the Town of Niagara, NY passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024 at Northgate Manor. Born in Uniontown, PA, on November 25, 1930, the son of the late Harry R. and Alice N. Stanley.

Bill attended schools in the Pittsburgh, PA area and graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 1948. He worked for Bell Telephone in Pennsylvania until 1950, moving to Buffalo, NY and having his time bridged to NY Telephone, starting as a messenger, retiring as a provisioning engineer in May of 1990. In 1951 he served in the US Navy as an aviation machinist mate and joined the Air Force Reserves following his honorable discharge.

Bill married Patricia A. (Aquino) on October 12, 1957 at St. Mary's of the Cataract Church in Niagara Falls, NY. They were longtime members of St. Leo's Church in the Town of Niagara.

Bill was an active bowler and golfer, likes toying around on the computer and was a stamp collector. He has been fire captain with the Niagara No. 1 Fire Company, entertainment chairman of the local chapter of Telephone Pioneers, a Pioneer Clown, Round Table commissioner of the Boy Scouts of America, Scoutmaster of Troop 837 and former secretary of his bowling league.

Bill was predeceased by his wife, Patricia, in 2022. He is survived by his children, Monica Stanley, William Stanley, Thomas (Lisa) Stanley; five grandchildren, Timothy (Megan) Barnes, Kadi (Jared) Carr, Thomas (Haley) Stanley, Zachary Stanley and Gabriella Stanley; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two siblings, Robert Stanley and Patricia Kirkpatrick.

Family and friends are invited to attend Bill's Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, January 9 at 10:00 AM in St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Military honors and entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Arrangements by M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel.
