William R. Blose, 88, passed away on Saturday June 25, 2011 at Schoellkopf Health Care Facility in Niagara Falls, NY. Born in Hamilton, PA he was the son of the late Clair and Mina (Jordan) Blose and brother of the late Addison (late Mary) Blose.

William attended school in Pennsylvania. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy Air Force as an Aviation Machinists Mate, Third Class T-CA from December 22, 1942 until his honorable discharge on February 3, 1946 and was the recipient of the Victory Medal for the American Campaign and a Good Conduct Medal for the European African Mid-East Campaign. On October 30, 1948 he married Helen M. (Lorelli) Blose in Punxsutawny, PA and they came to Niagara Falls in 1949 where they lived until the present time. William was employed by the Niagara Falls Board of Education until his retirement. He enjoyed collecting toy trains.

In addition to his wife, Helen M. Blose, of sixty two years, Mr. Blose is survived by two daughters Geralyn Blose and Deborah (Charles) Quinn both of Niagara Falls, NY; three grandchildren Jessica Blose, Steven (Tracy) Quinn and Cory Quinn, four great grandchildren Steven and Lauren Quinn, Justin and Jackson Quinn and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private funeral service was held for the immediate family at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON FUNERAL CHAPEL, 468 19TH STREET, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Entombment with Military Honors in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
