William Conti, 90, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Monday, February 15, 2016 at Niagara Hospice House. Born in Hawk Run, PA he was the son of the late Louis and Sarah (Sallurday) Conti.
William moved to Niagara Falls as a child with his family and attended local schools. He graduated from Niagara Falls High School, and later attended Niagara County Community College and Erie County Community College where he earned an Associate's Degree in Metallurgy. He served in the United States Navy during World War II as a Machinist's Mate Second Class and was honorably discharged on April 18, 1946. On August 27, 1955 Bill married Irene T. (Tacconi) Conti at St. Joseph Church. Bill worked in the Research and Development Lab at Union Carbide in Niagara Falls until retiring in 1990 after forty years of service.
William was a longtime active member of the I.S.D.A. Cataract Lodge where he served as a past president and trustee. He was also a sixty five year member of the LaSalle Sportsman Club, member of the Cristoforo Colombo Society and Italian and American War Veterans #42 with whom he served as a volunteer at the V.A. Hospital in Buffalo. Bill was also an avid bowler and was a passionate golfer, and participated in the annual I.S.D.A. golf tournaments held in Ohio. He was fondly known as "Pasta Bill" because of his love for making homemade pasta for his family and friends.
In addition to his wife of sixty years, Bill is survived by three children, William J. Conti, Karen (Mario) Serrianne both of Niagara Falls and Robert A. (Elizabeth) Conti of Williamsville; four grandchildren, Joseph and William L. Conti, Paige and Owen Conti; one great-grandson Anthony Conti; one brother, Frank (Ginger) Conti of North Tonawanda and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the brother-in-law of, Eva Rapisardi and Joseph Tacconi. He was also predeceased by three brothers and two sisters, Carl (late Mary) Conti, Joseph (Shirley) Conti, John (late Diane) Conti, Margaret (late Marty) (late Harry) Camardella-Saph and Violet (late Henry) Roberts.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. at

COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Friday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls .
