William J. Copping, 66 of Youngstown, NY, passed away on Saturday April 16, 2011. Born in Oxford-On-Rideau, Ontario, he was the son of the late Walter and Freda (Croucher) Copping.
Bill was raised and educated in Ontario. On July 31, 1965 he married Dianne (Gale) Copping in Richmond Hill, Ontario, and moved to Youngstown, NY in 1994. Bill was the co-founder of Precious Plate Inc. as well as president and co-founder of Precision Process Equipment Inc. both located in Wheatfield, NY. He was also the holder of three U.S. Patents. Bill's passion in life was fishing. He traveled throughout the world on fishing excursions, and was a member of the Fin, Feather and Fur Conservation Club (3 F Club) in Lewiston, NY. Bill also had a love for aviation, particularly military aircraft, gardening and was an avid hockey fan. Above all Bill had a deep love for his family and closest friends.
In addition to his wife of forty five years, Bill is survived by two sons, John (Leasa) Copping of Georgetown, Ontario and Luke W. Copping of Buffalo, NY, a grandson Mitchell Copping and step-granddaughter Maddisan Clarke, his brothers and sisters, Thomas (Betty) Copping of Niagara-On-The-Lake, Ont, Mary (Richard) Newburg of Toronto, Ont, David (Eleanor) Copping, Peter (Nina) Copping and James Copping all of Brampton, Ont, Maureen (John) Patton of Toronto, Ont and Linda Copping of Victoria, BC, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by one brother Michael Copping.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will be held on Thursday April 21st at 11:00 a.m. with Mary Ann Bartels officiating. A memorial reception will be held immediately following the funeral services at the Niagara Falls Country Club, 505 Mountain View Drive Lewiston, NY. If desired, memorial offerings may be made in memory of Bill to a charity of ones choice.
