William "Bill" Gugino, 90, of Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on May 16, 2017 at his residence. Born on February 8, 1927 in Fredonia, NY he was the son of the late Anthony and Louise (Como) Gugino, Sr.
Bill came to Niagara Falls, NY as a child with his family and attended local schools. He worked in the family owned business, the former Gugino's Supermarket located on 6 th and Niagara Street in Niagara Falls. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Bill was employed as a carpenter with the Carpenter's Local Union in Niagara Falls and later in the Carpenter's Local Union in Las Vegas, where he spent the last 39 years of his life.
Bill was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge and an active member of St. Viator Catholic Community in Las Vegas. He was very handy and able to build, fix or remodel anything and enjoyed building and collecting model cars. Bill was affectionately known as "Grandpa Willie" by his grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his three children, Angel DiBellonia, Guy (Maddie) Gugino, and Gino Gugino; five grandchildren, Nicholas (Lauren) DiBellonia, Christian Gugino, Joseph Gugino, Michael Gugino, and Samuel Gugino, one great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Charles (Rita) Gugino, Joseph (Edith) Gugino, Anthony Gugino, Jr., Samuel (Suzanne) Gugino, James (Ernestine) Gugino, Frank Gugino, Rose (Melvin) Walker and Louise (Joseph) Sdao, and Virginia (Michael) Filippelli.
