William "Bill" M. Diermyer, 71, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2020 at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo. Born in Lockport, NY on December 18, 1948, he was the son of the late Robert Diermyer and Eleanor (Morris) Diermyer.
Bill was raised in Lockport, NY and graduated from DeSales Catholic School. In 1967, he enlisted into the United States Army and served in the Green Berets during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge in 1970, Bill returned home and began working at Delphi Harrison Systems for over 30 years prior to retiring in 2000. He also served as a ham radio NY2WD operator for many years.
Bill enjoyed his retirement and was an active handyman who could repair anything. He was a golfer, bowler and an excellent cook. He also was an avid reader and great storyteller.
Bill is survived by his loving fiancée, Debra (Jozwik) Connors; two daughters, Holly (Aaron) Orange of Oak Harbor, WA and Tammy Diermyer of North Little Rock, AR; two step-children who he treated like his own, Mark (Jessica) Connors of Collins, NY and Rachel Connors of Niagara Falls, NY; grandchildren, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Dominick, Catherine and the late Alexander; step-grandchildren, Austin, Aubrey and Delaney; one great-grandson Theodore, and his sister-in-law Mary (John Schulte) Ortiz and her children, Angela, Nina and Miguel. Bill will be sadly missed by all. "Until we meet again."
Due to recent circumstances, funeral services and entombment with Military Honors in St. Joseph's Cemetery will be private for William's family.
