The Rev. William Connor McGarry, Ch. Lt. Col., Ret. U.S.A.F, age 86, Pastor Emeritus of Prince of Peace Church, Niagara Falls, NY, passed away at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Home on May 13, 2020.  Born in Carnegie, PA, he was the son of the late William P. and Catherine (O'Connor) McGarry.

Father McGarry was a priest for 61 years and served in parish ministry and as an Air Force Chaplain for 20 years, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. While as a resident of Our Lady of Peace Nursing Home he still ministered to the residents by celebrating daily Mass, Anointing the Sick and celebrating the Sacrament of Penance.

Father McGarry is survived by his brother, Leo (late Gisela) McGarry of Spring Valley, CA. and his adopted children and their families, Patricia A. (Andrew) Behe, and Don L. (Michelle) McGarry; four grandchildren Kevin A., Ryan J. and Allison N. Behe and Erika McGarry and his nephew Patrick (Surya) McGarry and their children Sean & Kayla.

Private services were held with interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery with full Military Honors. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 17 at 11 AM The Prince of Peace Church Site of St. Vincent DePaul Parish, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Memorial contributions in Father McGarry's honor may be made to Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Facility, 5285 Lewiston Road, Lewiston, NY 14092.
