William J. Rufrano, 76 of Lewiston, NY passed away on Saturday September 3, 2011 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late William and Elsie (Cappabianco) Rufrano. On June 29, 1957, he married Frances Annette (Faso) Rufrano in St. Joseph's Church in Niagara Falls. Mrs. Rufrano predeceased him on October 13, 1994.

William was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area and attended local schools. He severed in the United States Army from 1957 until his honorable discharge in 1959. William worked as a welder and pipefitter with Local 395 that later became Local 22, and the Linde Division of Praxair, Inc. in Tonawanda, NY until his retirement in 1997. In his leisure time, William enjoyed woodworking and metalworking. He also enjoyed meeting his friends for their monthly luncheons at the Como Restaurant in Niagara Falls.

Mr. Rufrano is survived by his four children, Darice Clayton (James Day) of Niagara Falls, NY, Pamela (Timothy) Gascoyne of Niagara Falls, NY, Susan (Joshua) Waitzman of Lewiston, NY and William J. Rufrano II of Orlando, FL, four grandchildren, Joseph (Elizabeth Miles)Clayton, Mark Clayton, Angelo Rufrano and Nicolas Rufrano, one great-granddaughter Brittany Clayton, his loving companion Karen Lane and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by one sister Loretta (Joseph of Niagara Falls, NY) Gambino.

Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS, NY, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday September 7th at 11:00 a.m. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery Niagara Falls, NY.
