William H. "Boo" Whisker, 86, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Monday, November 9, 2015 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in Keansburg, NJ he was the son of the late Mike and Hazel (Haggerty) Whisker.
Boo, as he was known to family and friends, came to Niagara Falls, NY in the mid 1930's and attended local schools. During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Army from 1950 until his honorable discharge in 1952. He recently celebrated sixty years of marriage to Jean B. (Pulito) Whisker who he married on October 15, 1955 at St. Joseph's Church in Niagara Falls, NY. William was employed by the Kimberly Clark Corp. and worked in their Shipping, Receiving and Maintenance Department and later in the Shipping and Receiving Department at Union Carbide Corp, both in Niagara Falls, NY retiring in 1999. While at Kimberly Clark, he was a member of their softball team. He enjoyed reading, walking, baseball and listening to the music of the forties.
William is survived by his wife Jean B. Whisker; two grandchildren William P. Whisker and Melissa M. Whisker, whom he loved dearly and they also loved him as much. He is also survived by one sister Patricia (Anthony) Certo of Lewiston, NY, many nieces, nephews and cousins and was the brother-in-law of John (late Eleanor) Pulito of Schenectady, NY, Joseph (Connie) Pulito of North Tonawanda, NY and Mary Jones of Oklahoma City, OK. He was predeceased by one son William M. Whisker and three siblings Robert (Antoinette of Colorado) Whisker, Hazel Robillard and Jack Whisker.
Visitation will be on Friday from 3 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Saturday, November 14th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane R. Klizek, officiating. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery with Military Honors.
