Willie Albert Smith "Pee Wee/Wine" 65, departed this life on Friday August 12, 2016. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY to the late George T. Smith and Lucile (James) Smith. He attended local schools and was employed as a machinist at Union Carbide. Willie was an exceptional machinist and auto mechanic. He loved working on cars for his family and friends. Willie moved to Alabama in early 2000 to help care for his parents. He took great joy and pride helping them as well as tending to their land and raising goats. He was happy to return to Niagara Falls in 2015 to be close to his family and dear friends. Willie was also an outstanding cook. He had a hearty laugh, great sense of humor and loved socializing with friends. Above all, he will be remembered as an early riser, hard worker and caring gentle soul, always willing to help anyone in need. Willie had a 'heart of gold' and truly loved being with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his 3 daughters, Eunice (Keith) McDougald, Melinda Smith and Mae Smith, one special daughter Kristen Johns-Price of White Plains, NY and 6 Grandchildren. Willie was also the brother of; George (late Juanita) Smith, Vincent (Eva) Smith, Tyrone (Chung) Smith, Gwendolyn Dexter and late, David Smith, James Edward Smith, Mae Smith and Edward Smith. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, long time friends James Love and Wilber Hunt, as well as many other friends and his former wife Georgia Washington-Smith and family, Evelyn Washington, Salena Washington, Georgetta (Rondell) Hamilton, Christopher Washington and Kiana Miller.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church 1334 Calumet Ave. Niagara Falls where funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Timothy Brown officiating.
