Zafar Ahmed, 77, of Getzville, NY, passed away on November 11, 2022 at his residence.  Born in Lahore Pakistan, he was the son of the late Sufi Bashir Ahmed and late Sakina Bano.

Zafar was educated in Pakistan, earning a Bachelor's Degree and specialized training in Merchant Naval Studies.  In 1973, he married Nafeesa Abida in Pakistan.  Zafar served as a Captain with the Pakistan Merchant Navy for 30 years.  In 2009, he moved to the United States with his family.  Zafar was a member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.  He enjoyed gardening, handing out candies to children, and above all, visiting with family.

In addition to his wife of 49 years, Zafar is survived by his children, Mehnaz (Dr. Nasir) Khan, Sadaf (Taha) Shaikh, and Sana (Zafar) Shahid; 11 grandchildren, 2 brothers, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and members of his community.  He was predeceased by 2 brothers and 1 sister.

Visitation and viewing will be held on Sunday, November 13 at 3 PM, with prayer services to follow at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304.  Prayer services and burial services will also be held in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.  Interment in Brampton Memorial Gardens, Brampton, Ontario, Canada.  Arrangements by M.J.
