Obituary

Jack A. Pucci, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on his 91st Birthday, May 30, 2025, with his loving family at his side, following a brief illness at Buffalo General Hospital.

Born in 1934 in Niagara Falls to Eugene and Genevieve (nee Palillo) Pucci. Survived by his daughter Alisa Jane, son Robert, grandson Robert Jr., siblings Frederick Pucci (Victoria, deceased) Mary Pucci Giordano (Robert Giordano, deceased), Patricia Pucci Kelly (Edward) Eugene (Debra), his Uncle Armando (Jeannette) of Jacksonville, FL and many loving nieces and nephews.

Jack graduated from NFHS in 1952, then began his first job, working at Trapasso Oldsmobile on Pine Avenue as a car runner.  It was there he met and was captivated by the stunningly beautiful Barbara Donofro.  He worked briefly at DuPont before delving into his own business ventures.

He married Barbara Donofro at St. Joseph's Church in Niagara Falls in 1956 and they were happily married for 66 years.

With his bride at his side, he began his business career, opening his first gas station with his brother Frederick, a Gulf station on Hyde Park Blvd.  A few years later, an Exxon station on Military Rd. with a restaurant called Captain Cris Fish and Chips, then 2 more gas stations with this Pucci Brothers team.  Prior to his retirement, he briefly worked for the city of Niagara Falls in the NF Convention Center.

Jack's interest in sports and passion for hockey, softball, and baseball endured throughout his life.  He was involved in coaching youth hockey as well as sponsoring softball and several other sports teams.  He was very involved in a bowling league for many years. Became a member of the board of directors of the Niagara Amateur Hockey League and enthusiastically purchased a junior hockey team, the Niagara Falls Mang Sharks, with his brother Fred and a 3rd business partner. A good standing member of the Cristoforo Colombo Society.

Jack was a dependable attentive father who did not miss a single one of Alisa's softball or Robert's hockey games in 20 years.

Jack's devotion to his grandson was unparalleled.  He was a kind, generous, and giving man, a loving father, grandfather, and devoted husband.  His absence leaves a vast gap in the lives of all those that loved him.
